BAUN Faculty of Science and Letters Department of Mathematics and Department of Sociology Reaccredited

Balıkesir University (BAÜN) has achieved another significant success in its accreditation efforts aimed at improving the quality of its education and ensuring compliance with national standards. The Department of Mathematics and the Department of Sociology within the Faculty of Science and Letters have been re-accredited by FEDEK, which contributes to raising the quality of FEF education in Turkey by conducting accreditation, evaluation, and informational studies for the curricula of the Faculties of Science, Letters, Science and Letters, Language, and History and Geography (FEF) across various disciplines.

As part of the accreditation efforts, a FEDEK closing meeting was held in the Senate Hall of the Rectorate, chaired by BAUN Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu. Attendees included Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, and Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl; Faculty of Science and Letters Dean Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Şahin; the FEDEK Evaluation Team; and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences department heads.

Speaking at the meeting, BAUN Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu emphasized the importance placed on accreditation processes, which demonstrate the university's commitment to raising quality standards in education and research across all departments, and congratulated everyone involved in the accreditation process. In his speech, Faculty of Science and Letters Dean Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Şahin thanked the academics and administrative staff who contributed to the completion of the accreditation process for the Mathematics Department and Sociology Department, which will contribute to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences' vision of quality education and research, for their hard work and dedication.
