Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam and Exam Halls
Information regarding the foreign language (English) exemption exam to be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 15:00 for students who will enroll in our faculty for the first time in 2025 and will take Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses for the first time is provided below.

COMMON COMPULSORY FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM
INFORMATION TEXT
The Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held in-person on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at the faculties or schools where students are registered.
Newly enrolled students who will be taking Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses for the first time are eligible to take the exam. This right may only be exercised once.
Students enrolling in the English Language Teaching Department of Necatibey Faculty of Education for the first time are not eligible to take the exam.
Students transferring horizontally or vertically, as well as students currently in their second, third, or fourth years, are not eligible to take the exam.
Students taking the exam must bring one of their official identification documents (ID card, driver's license, or passport).
The exam will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions and lasts 50 minutes.
Exemption Exam results will be sent to the Faculty Dean's Office or College Director's Office where students are registered; students can find their results from their faculty/college student affairs office.
According to Article 17/1 of the Balıkesir University Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulation, students must receive a minimum score of 60 (CC) or higher to be exempt from YDI 1101 and YDI 1201 courses.
Students who receive a score of 60 or higher will be exempt from the relevant course.
Every student taking the exam is deemed to have accepted the exam procedures and principles.
